Greetings from Mexico!

Today was our first full day in Cancun! We all headed to a park called Xplore. There, we went zip lining, drove 4-wheelers, and went swimming through a cave of stalagmites and stalactites. It was pretty amazing!

Tomorrow, Mom, Dad, and Ben are going on this Mayan adventure thing, so I'm headed to the pool and swim up bar, along with tequila tasting, alllllll day!

The Experience of a Lifetime

On January 8, 2011, I started an internship in Kilimanjaro, Tanzania, Africa. The program I worked with was called Cross Cultural Solutions. I was working in an orphanage, school, and daycare for kids with developmental disabilities for 12 weeks. Organizations like the children's orphanages, daycares, and centers for street children have a lack of available funding and an increase in disease -- including HIV/AIDS -- and leaves many children without available, qualified caregivers. As a CCS volunteer, I was able to provide one-on-one attention and care that these children may not otherwise receive.
