Operation ASHA

Operation ASHA is a non-government organization (NGO) based out of Delhi, India and Chicago. It aims to eradicate tuberculosis worldwide. They treat TB amongst more than two million individuals, most who are living in the slum areas of India. With modern medicine, TB is a very treatable disease. India is home to more than a quarter of the world's TB population.

At OpASHA, they have taken TB treatment to the doorsteps of the underserved and impoverished. By placing treatment centers within the communities where the patients live, the detection rate has increased substantially.

OpASHA is expanding rapidly and plans to serve a population of 70 million by 2013 and extend work internationally including in Africa. Their vision is a world free from tuberculosis.
